Spirituality is a sense of connection with something bigger than us. Integrating your spiritual beliefs into therapy can be a helpful (and for some faith traditions, a vital) part of the healing process.
For transparency, my personal faith background includes a belief in God and in Jesus. There are many ways people who believe in Jesus can hold separate beliefs about and interpretations of scripture. Therefore, if you are interested in integrating a Jesus centered spirituality in your work with me, we will collaborate on what that will look like. This focus on spirituality in counseling will only take place if it is something that you are interested in integrating.
My counseling room is a safe space for those who come from any faith background and tradition.
You may also come to counseling with questions about your inherited faith traditions. Therapy can be a useful place for unpacking faith traditions and beliefs as learned in childhood. It can be a safe place to process any painful experiences with religion, religious people and religious organizations.
